I'm trying to adjust to the new Fox site. In my case everything seems to work OK, however, I don't like how posts/blogs are organized (navigation wise) there and feel that when events start "hopping" it would be much harder to follow than this setup.

I'm sure the Fox webteam has put considerable effort into changing software to please as many as possible, but this "forum type" is hard to beat for quick ease of use. It seems to be what many other special interest groups use like storm chasers, computer groups, etc. The only downside here ATM is the inability to upload graphics due to expense.

My opinion only and I will continue to follow both sites, while it lasts, so I can continue to take advantage of the expertise and camaraderie given by the members.

Okay, I'm starting to feel like the bad fairy of doom for that new website, but I seem to be running into every flaw that it has.

Latest one?  Didn't get to see the weather news this am, go to click on the video of the forecast and am told that I need to download the newest version of the Adobe flash player.  I click on all of the links in the gray box  that say 'need help?' and all of them are dead ones.   I see another separate link on the bottom far right, and click on it.  Link to Adobe successfully.  Download the player. THAT site tells me that I did it correctly.

Try again to watch the video and still get that error message that I need a new player.

So I reboot just in case that was necessary.  I go back, still see the gray boxes...

JMO, but sometimes new is just new and not better.  Never, ever had trouble on the old site.  Worst thing that ever happened was that things like the radar interactive section took forever to reload.  Nothing like what I've dealt with so far with this one.

*sigh*

Jeepers-  I can't get anywhere on the new site right now. My avatar also disappeared from the one page this morning.  Hopefully, these are just "breaking in" issues and will be resolved quickly, with the emphasis on quickly.

Hey reb, it's even better than I thought.  Ever since I downloaded whatever based upon that prompt, now I CAN'T SEE ANY VIDEO ANYWHERE on the web.

I have to wait until my husband gets home to fix whatever I just jacked up.  Better that I can't see the fox site than to screw up my video for the entire net.
